Today we are very pleased to announce the first brick in building our community of crossword solvers and writers: Myles Mellor.

Myles is a full-time professional crossword puzzle writer who is internationally published and one of the most successful puzzle writers in America today. Currently publishing 50 crossword puzzles per month, reaching over 2 million people, his work has delighted and intrigued the readers of over 150 magazines, newspapers and websites.

Myles has agreed to partner with Puzux to offer his 4000+ crossword to users of our site.  His specialty is crossword puzzles written on themes for magazines but he also writes regular puzzles for newspapers and can produce almost all the different types of crossword puzzle.

Today we entered the UC Berkeley Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology’s Venture Lab 2009 competition. Along with many other Berkeley- (and further afield-) based startups we made our case for mentorship and prize money.

You can’t win them all, and we didn’t, but we generated enough interest to have conversations with some very enthusiatic mentors.  “Come to my office – we’ll launch this afternoon!” one said.  We might work on it for a few more weeks, but it was nice to hear that someone thinks we’re on the right track.
