Puzux.com is here!
On our corporate site you read all about who we are and what we do. If you have a Kindle, there are instructions there about how to get started. If you already know what you’re doing you can point your Kindle browser to www.puzux.com and it’ll take you to crosswords.
Don’t have a Kindle yet? You can buy one from Amazon, and until it arrives you can try our mocKindle
Either way, enjoy our puzzles and please let us know what you think!
How do you ‘launch’ something like a brand new Internet crossword delivery system? With a lot of caffeine, the answer seems to be. At 1am on the morning of October 30th 2009 Dana finally looked up from her laptop and uttered the happy words “I think we’re done”.
On the way we had created and tested a complete development environment and database, designed a “corporate” (ha!) website, defined subdomains, and finally and timorously moved everything across to our production locations of www.puzux.com and kindle.puzux.com.
There were some bumps in the road. Our careful version control system, the thing that’s meant to keep us from overwriting each other’s work, fell apart around 11.30pm. The script the determines whether users are on the Kindle or another browser got deleted along the way and so had to be remade…but apart from that things were pretty smooth. Tomorrow Eran launches the marketing and Dana can worry about all the things we might have missed. I’ll make sure she’s supplied with coffee.

Fuel of the IT world.
