As more and more fans start using our puzzles, we present this new series of blog posts that focus on highlighting features in Puzux. In spite of its simple and elegant look, we have put a lot of thought into the Puzux user interface with the goal of making the solving experience as smooth as possible in spite of some unique challenges with the e-ink technology. In this series of posts we will share tips on how to best utilize these features, and we start by showing different ways to navigate within a crossword on your Kindle.
After loading a crossword, you may want to take a quick look at all of the crossword’s clues and choose the ones you want to start with. To do so, simply click on the Kindle’s Next Page button and the full list of clues will be shown. Clicking on the Prev Page button will return you to the crossword grid where you can start entering your answers.
It’s easy to jump to a clue without navigating through the grid. Simply type the clue number on the “Jump to clue” input box at the top left of the crossword, and click on Go.
This will pop up the clue for that number and allow you to directly type your answer. If a square is the start of both across and down clues you will need to choose which clue you want to enter. Click OK to see and answer the across clue or Cancel to see the down one.
You can also simply use the Kindle’s 5-way controller to navigate to any specific clue. Click on the controller to see the clue and type your answer.
We hope you find this new How-to series useful. Our next post will show how to use notes when solving a Sudoku puzzle on Puzux. Let us know what other features you’d like us to highlight!
