How-to Series: Take note!

If, like me, you’re not a maths genius with a photographic memory and total recall, then notes will be a central part of your Sudoku solving.  At Puzux we were very keen to get notes into our puzzles, and we’re proud to be the only people currently offering this on the Kindle.

Notes allow you to record all possible numbers in a Sudoku square.  Wondering if it’s a 3 or a 7 in there?  Put both in as notes and choose your answer later when the big picture of the grid becomes clearer.

To enter a note into your puzzle, simply type the letter n on the keyboard before your input.

n1

When you’re done, move to the next box and your note will appear:

n2

When you’ve made your choice, go back to your note square and type in the answer you want.  Move out of the box and your chosen answer will be displayed:

n5

If you want to add more numbers to your notes, or remove some, just type n before your input.

n7

Your notes will be saved any time you save the puzzle, and will be there for you when you come back.  Hopefully they’ll help you to solve your Sudoku!  Getting the answers right is another story…
