Show me the numbers!

Amazon’s new Kindle 3 is a wonderful device, as wonderful as their others, but where it gains from a crisper screen and speedier hardware it has one major disadvantage to Sudoku players – no numbers on its keyboard! The numbers have been moved to the symbols menu: click the Sym button, and along with your commas and semicolons you’ll see a row of digits that you can navigate to with the joystick.

But what if all that clicking is annoying you?  Well, you can access the numbers another way.  Press and hold the Alt key and then one of the keys in the top QWERTY row.  You’ll be able to type the number corresponding to it!  Here’s a quick guide:

Kindle 3 numbers

For those who like to keep their clicks to a minimum, this should hopefully speed up your solving.  Don’t forget: you can type n in front of these short cuts to keep notes!  Pick up any of our Sudoku books from our Kindle store to try it out.
